Multi level marketing is known as network marketing. This is a kind of business where franchising and direct selling are combined. This business makes a person associated to a company in an independent transaction approach. It is an approach where the company creates a contactor relationship to the person who wants to expand his business.

 

The members make their earnings based on the sales they have reached in that particular product or service. It also includes the sales of the person that they have recruited to join the business. Most of the time the individual who has recruited more members and provided a good sales output on the product compensate higher because of the effort to transact in two different fields.

 

There are “pyramid schemes” or Ponzi schemes, which are considered illegal. Most people associate multi level marketing to these kind of schemes because they also recognize themselves to be a legitimate networking business.

Because of the bad image brought up by these schemes, many prefer to use their names for their businesses as “home based business franchising” or “affiliate marketing”.

 

Commissions are earned in the process of selling a particular product or service in a legitimate network marketing. There can be no earnings in what they call as a “sign up fee” or for just recruiting yourself alone. This kind of marketing is always criticized because of the questionable recruitment process where they get their revenue and profit. They get their sales from members and new members, which are considered the end users of the product and as the distributors.

 

These criticisms led to the major changes in the multi level marketing in the early 1980s when many companies have started to allow their members to concentrate only on marketing and not on distributing or stocking the product. Most multi level marketing firms nowadays perform as fulfillment firms by taking the tasks of shipping the product, paying the commissions and taking orders from their clients.

 

Many people who are victims of the illegal schemes in multi level marketing are required to buy expensive products, but most of these schemes do not last long because most of the sales are not easily resold.

I always find it interesting to use WIkipedia in defining an expression or idea before delving into my own exoerience of the topic.

Viral marketing, viral advertising, or marketing buzz are buzzwords referring to marketing techniques that use pre-existing social networking services and other technologies to produce increases in brand awareness or to achieve other marketing objectives (such as product sales) through self-replicating viral processes, analogous to the spread of viruses or computer viruses (cf. Internet memes and memetics). It can be delivered by word of mouth or enhanced by the network effects of the Internet and mobile networks.[1] Viral marketing may take the form of video clips, interactive Flash games, advergames, ebooks, brandable software, images, text messages, email messages, or web pages. The most commonly utilized transmission vehicles for viral messages include: pass-along based, incentive based, trendy based, and undercover based. However, the creative nature of viral marketing enables an “endless amount of potential forms and vehicles the messages can utilize for transmission”, including mobile devices.[2]

The ultimate goal of marketers interested in creating successful viral marketing programs is to create viral messages that appeal to individuals with high social networking potential (SNP) and that have a high probability of being presented and spread by these individuals and their competitors in their communications with others in a short period of time.[3]

The term “It’s going VIRAL” I’m sure you have heard of before, more than likely you have experienced it. I have 3 days ago, a well-known Online Marketing coach gave a 90 min free Webinar and over 50000 Network Marketers signed up with e-mail and name to participate in the Action and the Plan required to initiate 20 new Members into your business in the space of a 30 day period.

So what is the hype you might be thinking… well if you have ever tried marketing directly to family, friends and relatives you will have realized that the process is not an easy one to say the least. Now to get 20 new members, I thought,  MUST be Bl…dy near impossible.

It is hard enough trying to find one new prospect or customer, I know. Never the less Mr Eric Worre did a magnificent job of clearly and simply laying out a working plan which COULD go viral.

Across the channel in the UK the Juice Plus Network Marketing business IS at this very moment in a Viral state. Records for people climbing the Sales Hierarchy Ladder are flying through the roof. The most unheard of growth in the Juice Plus Company’s history is happening on the tiny island of Britiania.

The means with which those busy individuals have created the situation are the maximum utilization of the Social Media Platforms. Here we connect daily, some hourly and post the newest, latest bits and bobs which are happening to us and these in turn are posted on to the fan community.

So on it goes, the ripple spreading as fast as light out across the net. We recipients, our phones ever at the read, our ears tuned for that tell-tale pling and our insatiable desire then to feed on the new tit bit of info  useful or useless is immaterial, my phone has become the latest replacement for a packet of Marlboro’s.

This is my , our , your virility, grown accustomed to the pling and peep of an electronic device feeding us bits, bites and bobs around the clock. Old and young have piled onto this band wagon and it remains up to us online marketers to utilize the power potential inherent to connect to the world, instantaneously anywhere and at any time.

ets try a Wikipedia definition first:

Prospecting is a small-scale form of mineral exploration which is an organised, large scale effort undertaken by commercial mineral companies to find commercially viable ore deposits.

Prospecting is physical labour, involving traversing (traditionally on foot or on horseback), panning, sifting and outcrop investigation, looking for signs of mineralisation. A prospector must also make claims, meaning they must erect posts with the appropriate placards on all four corners of a desired land they wish to prospect and register this claim before they may take samples.

When we use the analogy in its classical sense, prospecting is dam hard work, in the field alone, with all your senses sharpened, scanning the landscape, the outcrops and ground for tell tail clues as to where riches may be concealed in the earth.

In its marketing sense we are not that far away from this description either!

Yes we are out there with our skillset, meeting and communicating with people who are desperate in their attempts to find a source of financial nourishment, or the rich gold seam running hidden. Many thirsty and hungry for success, it is us who can alleviate this pain & suffering by sharing a clearly defined and thought through road map where to go and what to do to get to the gold seam and how to work it!

Ya, this is the idea behind the mentoring, it is one of supporting likeminded individuals to get to their goals in the most direct and efficient way possible.

As marketers working the web, this is our landscape that we are familiar with, where we have also stumbled the rocky, thirsty road looking for fabled riches. Most of us who have found the source and are working it, are so grateful, that it is a gift and pleasure to support and help those brave enough to try the same journey.
