Poetry Poem: The Ancient Mariner

To the wind and the waves

With the mast in the sky

Sails pulled taught and the seagulls cry

My home is the sea the storm and the blue

White clouds flying through the rigging too

The crack of sail and the cold flung spray

It’s the wide horizon on a windy day

Which calls the shanty to my weathered lips

Of whales and maids of pirate ships

Of tea at the hearth and a hot clean bath

The trick is over the passage past

The cargo stowed like my memories too

In a locked treasure chest

On my arm tattoo

To my dreams I’ll fly in the night to come

Where again I’ll journey the me so young

Across oceans and seas where I had the life

Traders rum and the whetted knife

I’ve done the turn

I’ve lived the life

I’ve carried the burden

I’ve had the strife

Now it’s time for the hot cupa tea

It’s my children’s children who listening see

Those days far flung

Far deep in me

The wave the wind the dark blue sea.

What is NMP?

New Millennium Poetry

As a creative writer, a poet, a psychotherapist, and a metallurgical engineer. I’ve been able to create an imaginatively hybrid way of thinking and expressing these thoughts. This is a new type of poetry that I’ve called “New Millennium Poetry.”

After over a decade of writing regularly, I published several books and continue to write with one overwhelming, passionate endeavour and that is to express the invisible world of our humanity. Everything is our tech world is described down to the smallest detail. When it comes to the sensitive and invisible world of our soul, of our feelings, of our intentions, of our thoughts, and how we experience them, how they work, where they come from, and how we can discover them, transform them, improve them and share them, this is the endeavour of my work.

What is NMP?


When reading the content of the books “New Millennium Poetry Volume 1-3”, they’re divided into categories, which describe our human condition. For example, love, death, birth, inspiration, spirituality, nature, emotional poetry, and so on. Within these categories, you find a colourful spectrum of poems, each individual and authentic.
When reading a poem, the idea is that the thoughts that they represent and the ideas and the feelings that are embedded within the imagery of the poems are not unique, these belong to the ground of the common human soul. Existent within each one of us, where we can discover and rediscover ourselves in a new, dynamic, and more profound ways.
So when listening to a poem as a whole, or even an individual line, sometimes even a word we find a resonation with something deep within us, that we have already experienced, but have not as yet until the moment of resonance, clarified as a thought, or a new idea with which to enrich and deepen our own experience of living and life.

So, with these ideas, I present poetry, which has been written for a new paradigm of human consciousness, that of our emergent ‘soul awareness’, and ‘soul consciousness’. Where millions upon millions of people across different nations, nations, languages, religions, and cultures are emerging from materialism and recognizing that life is more than just what we have, the joy and the love are about discovering who we are.

This is an awakening, a revelation so simple yet profound that it heeds our full attention, as the consequences for everything are manifold.
When it’s no longer about having and economies are no longer defined alone by growth, the implicit meaning of how societies work and within those societies how we relate to one another becomes a new emergent principle in defining life. Life is precious, valuable, and short, and an experience with which and in which every living being has the right to the fullness and abundance that we can all share on the planet.

Who comes thirsty to the fountain and spring?

The moon & stars reflected therein.

Quenching thirst first with light, with reflection and awe.

The cup flowth over with wisdom and more

Fruits foreign, sweet wine to the table this tonight.

Who is to marry the prince of light?

To greet dawns wing on a golden flush

To wrap the night in a star filled hush.

To touch the sky with a spear of fire

To hear the truth from an Angel choir

Be it truth

Be it love

Be it who

Be it you my friend

Now dusty and tired

Who at the end of this journey long

Who sipped the stars on a lonely night

Who drank from God’s goblet of light

Who sung the song till the heavens cried

Of a new life to come

Of a day fresh born

Of a souls awaking

Call out the trumpet

Call out the horn.

It’s the Prince of light who wakes the morn.

As simple folk we cast lines, times nets

Not out, but into our depths

Sweeping those tepid waters of the soul

Seeking for food the nutrition of life

Yes, my body eats yet, that feeds me not

It’s heaven into which my lines are cast

Seeking to solve this transient dilemma

Needing substantiation of the invisible

Something about which there is nothing

Carry me gentle

For I know not

Let my soul spill into yours

This intoxication overwhelms me

Carries me to the other you

That one touching stars, weaving rainbows into your hair

This madness whirls me away into an ocean

Losing the words, the last fleeting glimpse

Of who I thought I was

Washed away gone

Purified by wonder, love and your fragrance

We step again upon firm sand

Bathed in foam

Hand in hand

Loves embrace lingers

A moment longer till

Morning breaks finding you shining golden in my eyes.

Being alone is a fallacy

For as those around your space,

Share their independence, find grace,

I’m left alone to verity.

So we move peacefully closer to whom

We intrinsically already are

Believe in this or not

Gods given grace requires placidity

The thundering power of

Peace when alone

Peace when at home

Peace when found

Peace to my touch hallowed ground.
