Poetry: The Dialog

Poetry: The Dialog

by Liam

The Teacher spoke,“You friend, are infinitely more than you think.”

Yet, said I,”This dust filled day leaves me parched.”

“ Drink not with your sight, refresh you thoughts in a quiet conversation with God.”

So closing my eyes, my mind was quickened by the fountainhead.

“The dust of today, brings the dew of a new morning.”

Thinking about it, I smile realizing how simple it is to go from despair to joy. This new thought creating a new emotion.

Poetry: The Apparel of Words

Poetry: The Apparel of Words

by Liam

Words are never ever wasted

They come from that invisible sea

From which those thirsty drink

Who on the journey become parched for wisdom

Words which are the apparel of thoughts

Thoughts which are the substance of God

Giving me meaning

Enabling me to recognize universally

The interconnectedness we experience

While on the way home

On the back to where we were Before being born.

Poetry: Death will Remove

Poetry: Death will Remove

by Liam

Death, true death will remove

All you’ve gathered, gleaned and gained

This time of life is to plant

Your affection, care and love

For its a willing thing which seeks even the most barren soul

To fertilize and grow sound

Give away what is superfluous in your house

Hand out the things which bring another relief

Care also for all the joy you have sown

The harvest is rich and will lift your soul on bright wings

As you fly

Leave this life

Soar to God on high, die.

Poetry: God Forbid

Poetry: God Forbid

by Liam

Let God forbid

This heart should find another home

How could it be then,

other than all alone

For hesitation turned my eyes from love

A stream with flowers high above

Calling crying sighing

Till in recognition of the new

Heavens poetry like fresh wind blew the branches

Gentle sweet and long

Returning me to Gods roots

The buds, the green leaf shoots

Building a home, a heart, my place to start

Again, in flow to follow Love to grow .

World Poetry Day

Day 21 March

A decision to proclaim 21 March as World Poetry Day was adopted during UNESCO’s 30th session held in Paris in 1999.

One of the main objectives of the Day is to support linguistic diversity through poetic expression and to offer endangered languages the opportunity to be heard within their communities.

The observance of World Poetry Day is also meant to encourage a return to the oral tradition of poetry recitals, to promote the teaching of poetry, to restore a dialogue between poetry and the other arts such as theatre, dance, music and painting, and to support small publishers and create an attractive image of poetry in the media, so that the art of poetry will no longer be considered an outdated form of art, but one which enables society as a whole to regain and assert its identity.

Poetry: Who are We?

Poetry: Who are we?

by Liam

In the silence,

There where the light breaks out

From within my being

The universe of your listening

Perceives

Not a whisper but the roar

Of the whisperer

Reverberate across the universe

Let this be the art of your understanding

For silence speaks from himself

The listener hears within herself

Each in life’s short breath

Planting the deeds of love

Each and every way.

Poetry: Who is the author?

Poetry: Who is the Author?

by Liam

Life is a pen in hand

Writing me across the pages of today

Giving me the opportunity to question

Not only the author but also the plot

The moments of recognition and inspiration

Where my context is set against my content

Should I laugh or cry?

Should I live or die?

Rough the winds which blow my way

Or could I ride the gusts

Which thrust against me, stay

In quiet peace

A place to write the script

With which to create the way.

Poetry: The Other

Poetry: The Other

by Liam

We have always known one the other

Out there beyond tomorrow

Way before yesterday’s sunset

We attract like the waxing and waining of the moon

Each a part in the same dynamic

Dancing laughing joyful partners in this world

Love thirsty drinking life

Hungry, eating from the full table of today

One of subtle substance together

We simply vibrate on the same frequencies

Everything within you, without much touch it’s

Magical too.

Poetry: The Music of Noise

Poetry: The Music of Noise

by Liam

“The quieter you become the more you are able to hear.” Rumi

Before making quietude my practice

Before the sweetness of silence caressed my ears

Before stillness graced the kitchen table

Noise noise noise

Swept around my hearing all the day

While the music remained unheard

Pour that quality invisible, sweet and rich

Into your listening, your life, your love

Hear the whisperer

Hear the heart sweetener

Hear the music deepener

By making quietude, my practice

By the sweetness, of silence which caress my ears

By stillness, graced upon the kitchen table.

Poetry: The Teacher

Poetry: The Teacher

by Liam

I have been a teacher

I still am but it’s not you I’ve taught

It’s not even those children

Whose sight is on a future

We cannot yet see

The teachings come to my understanding

The lessons learnt come from my heart

This beautiful subject is Life itself

Where the master is radiant rich graciously

Enfolding within me, the wisdom that Change

Is the way of becoming ever closer to our magnificence.
