Her Light

Liam

She moves through her day

like a hush between

the catechism and confession.

Quiet, unassuming, introverted,

yet charged with a grace

that makes dust motes

seem like angels in the light

each dancing to be noticed.

Her presence, too, always gathers vibrancy,

as if she creates

sparks of lightning with her gaze.

People often ask where she comes from.

Strange—

as if the sacred has to carry

an identity document.

True:

she shines like a diamond

at a garage sale—brilliantly,

but gets mistaken for costume jewelry,

and sold to someone

who became nothing more than a paperweight.

Yet even then,

she did not dim.

For the heavenly never complains

about being misnamed

or being mistreated.

She simply waits,

waits to be recognized—

like eternity

wearing time as the disguise.

The Rainbow

Your way begins over there

On the other side of the sky

The bridge there is a rainbow of love

It connects us to all and everything

Believe not your eyes

It’s your heart which needs to step out step forward

Not blinded by light

But intoxicated with color

Singing with the birds

For those wings are yours too, to fly

Those songs are yours too, to recite

As poems of how we have come to be

So alive, so much more, so free.

When she looks at you

Listen up, for those

Deep eyes speak sweet

Words of silent selflessness

Each a butterfly

Alone,

Though the color, the movement takes

My gaze to intoxication

Not my thoughts

My emotional wings take flight feelings

Lift me peacefully on the intention of the moment

Eyes gaze, the look mesmerizing

While words with wings flutter

Across my imagination singing sweet hymns of praise and gratitude

Each of us born will crawl, struggle then fly

Take the goblet of now

Both hands cherishing it’s beauty

To my lips taste the sweet wine of life

Let love live through you

The light of the sun and stars through me

Woven together this cosmic pattern will improve

Reveal we are but one universe

Give it silence to unfold

Give it love to enrapture

For in this euphoric dance, we reveal the truth as it unfolds

Our souls, a mist rising to the morn of a new day dawning

Joy that in life we may be

Who we are born to become.

Of today and laughing left again to play

High games of hide and seek

In the dark, as a spark of heaven

Waning in a still blue sky
