How long will I still wait?

To feel your soul when the mountain shakes

To hear your silence as the thunder breaks

To touch your love as the morning awakes

How long my love will you be gone?

Till the full moon rounds

Till the four season sounds

Till the sea tide turns

I’ll be tonight with a star that shines

I’ll find your light

So you’ll be mine

In God this call, for all is fine.

The Doorbell

Unexpectedly at a dinner party it was commented upon that I was a writer and poet. On confirmation, the commentator then asked me to spontaneously write a poem about a woman’s breast and a doorbell to prove my command of the language. This is what I wrote.

Let my attest, this thing address

The beauty of a woman breast

Is that which, when the door-bells rung

Will open, in she’ll come

It’s then alone, not before

The fun begins, leads to more

Than bells could ring when heavens door

Too opens wide

She will let you slide inside

Hear aloud the angels sing

What a price this bell did bring

You my friend must wear her wedding ring

So caution be when at the door

For a woman’s ring means so much more.

All I want is to run, towards the moment smiling

For that perfume rise’s from the valley floor

To the stars and stay

Why be afraid of the silence,

For in silence I find not only self

I also discover my selflessness

Fear shies away from quietude for that stillness is rich

In this humble place, is found the ground

The very substance

The very substantiation

The amorphous body of consciousness

Creator of worlds, before and after

Creator in our world of here and now

This is all we ever need embrace

God in the grace of our own experience

Whisperer of truth, fountainhead of youth

Responding to moments like

We respond to salvation.

Responding to moments of how

We react to redemption .

Gratitude,thankfulness, appreciation

What do I have without you my friends?

Naught, nothing, zero

This feeling, my attitude of acknowledgment

Can only be a benefit

The benediction of joy received

The Godsend of all I have and will still do

Lifting the mundane, creating appreciation, enabling love to surface

Understanding that one moment of appreciation

Opens the lock in every heart

Becomes the code to contentment,

The acknowledgment of my expectation fulfilled

Gratitude, is life rejoicing with myself

Today

I graciously accept your gratitude with thanks.

During life’s days we read, we write

The story book of who we are, of how we fight

Survive the rage, the flight, the title to hold on to tight

Unfolding , we are told times right, times wrong, be gone

Why then worry, about what they have forgotten, done or left alone

Let those stories fill the myth of yore

Let’s rather create verity as my homely abode

Be drawn in by the luminosity of the night

For stars are reflections of what we already are

See, see it’s me all around that sky

Shining, shining in the love of right

Follow this inner light for the darkness is persuasive tight

Yet you are the light which fills each day, shows the way past pain, past rain, past night

Summer Me

Poem: Summer Me

Hazy meets the summer morn

Fields full ripe with golden corn

Heavy green,

the leaf in tree

Bramble tangled thorn,berry, bee

1000 starlings swirl the sky

Mixing twirling screech & cry

While clinging frail to a fresh mown lawn

The myriad drops of a dew showered dawn

My bike rolls free

Through the morning me

Fresh the red in a ripe apple tree

I whistle, I sing, while words fly by,

Some while a bit longer

Some catch my eye

Build pictures

Build moments

Build rhyme rhythm song

For you who I look for

Will I tell my story

These summer days long.

Poetry: Consciousness

The soul oceanically merges with love into everything, everywhere

My mind though, divides microscopically until it’s nothing but infinity and eternity that’s left

Flowing between head and heart, mind and soul

Consciousness

Evolves life within this rushing line of time

Till into the ocean of spirit we have known, we again will be thrown.

But “now” is universally how consciousness awakes unto itself.

A striving to know, a desire to grow, an intrinsic need to associate with the cosmos from which this me is emerging.

The evenings gold gathering our words

For it’s prayer which carries them to God

Each one hung on a star for Heaven to read

Each one written across the tapestry of a heart

For us to remember

How blessed this done day has been

Why seek shelter in a Prophets word?

Those words which give solace

Bring respite from the storm

Already inside us

To create a new norm

For its you, it’s in me and we are it too

Our thoughts are the marriage between heaven and thee

Be a seeker of wisdom you to will see

This quietens the wave

Brings calm to the soul

Shines light to the day

Creates life to behold

The way, is always mine alone

It’s a gift

It’s this life

It’s an insight too
