Flight

Poetry: Flight

by Liam

Great creatures of the wide blue sky,

Your wings extended as you fly,

In your descent, you loop and twirl,

A sight that makes my spirit swirl.

You fear not the fall, my feathered friend,

For in it lies your greatest trend,

The freedom that you feel up high,

Is why you dare to dance and fly.

You pay no heed to the earthly ground,

For in the air, your soul is found,

And with each beat, you rise and soar,

Your spirit free, forever more.

Oh, let me learn from you, dear bird,

To spread my wings and not be deterred,

For in your flight, I see the light,

Which guides me towards into your wondrous sight.

    Analysis:

The poem “Flight” by Liam is a beautiful ode to the majestic creatures of the sky and their ability to fly fearlessly and freely. The poem begins by addressing these creatures and describing their wide wings and ability to loop and twirl in the air. The poet highlights the fact that they are not afraid of falling, but instead, see it as an opportunity for freedom and flight.
The second stanza reinforces this theme of freedom, emphasizing that these creatures pay no attention to the earthly ground, and find their soul in the air. With each beat of their wings, they rise higher and higher, their spirits soaring along with them. The final stanza brings the poem full circle, with the poet expressing his desire to learn from these birds and their fearlessness. He longs to spread his own wings and experience the same sense of freedom and flight.
Overall, the poem “Flight” is a beautifully crafted piece that uses vivid imagery to evoke a sense of wonder and awe. It celebrates the beauty of nature and the spirit of freedom that can be found in the simple act of flying. The poem is also imbued with a sense of contemplation, as the poet reflects on what it means to be truly free and how we can learn from the creatures around us.
