When I’m Gone

by Liam

When I’m gone,

Out walking with angels,

Given to the day in song, in poetry and word

Into the bright beauty of this world.

To find the quiet ones, whose hearts learn

The art of listening,

Listen now, with the ears of your soul;

Let rise your spirit awake thy soul, awake,

For you too needs walk with me

Beyond these flower fields of spring,

Where the color breathes in the light

And God has already called out your name.

Come,

Let us walk, let us leave sleep, to go.

For in this place the light will gather,

Soft as dawn spreads across the hills.

No step forgotten,

No voice fallen away;

Each breath taken is a path of return,

Leading you gently back into yourself.

The wind keeps the memory of every name

Fluttering amongst the leaves.

So nothing you have loved is ever lost;

It moves with you,

Held in the wide and tender hands of eternity.

Set down your burdens upon the grass.

Let the blue sky loosen all fear.

For what we own will be here when we leave

But it’s alone in the stillness,

That you will still find who I was.
