Poetry: The Pilgrimage

Poetry: The Pilgrimage

by Liam

When we walk, as pilgrims along the road of love

I wear my cloak of gratitude

My sandals throw up dust from the past

Selfishness dissipates

Pain becomes a liberation

Images of where I’ve been and done

Each step, each day

Bringing me closer to God

This appreciation strengthens the substance

Of my soul

Filling every nook and cranny of my life

Bringing me back to where we all began

Over there, on the other side

Towards which I’m again marching

A pilgrimage, to this place called me.
