Poetry Poem: The Red Dress

Poem: The Red Dress

Written by Liam Kennedy

If birds were bees

Leaves were flees

Flowers grew hours

Trees bent at their knees.

The old grew younger

Grass could dance

Life’s song was sung

With a passing glance

If dry was wet, I bet

On drops, that falling up

I’d stop to fill my coffee cup

A bird was heard in Timbucktoo

To sing a Verdi quite absurd!

Up was down, outside was in

I strained my brain

I waggled my chin

I ground my teeth

I smile begins

This all confound

Is turning round

A confused muddled mixed up mess

Why?

It’s the colour of your red dress,

That puts me , in such distress…..
