Often, what we believe is not what we think

Let loves flame first incinerate my intention

Rising up is not smoke, but sweet perfume

Watch the rosebud kiss your blushing cheek

Which color speaks of a greater love

Throw that bud to the pyre

For it’s heartache which consumes desire

Love’s flame proclaims the truth, reveals the power.

I learn joy as the sun returns to shine

From a smile which lights these eyes of mine

I learn peace when the moonshine to me speaks

Within the quietude which my heart too seeks

I learn gratitude from the table sharing bread

For all there is which we can give instead

I learn love from God which is in me divine

As every life is Love as well, complete and fine

I learn freedom not from wings or gold

Lay a kiss upon your lips

Then gently take your hand to hold.

I learn the magic these truths reveal,

Simply be passionate about how you feel.

We too, need to think about the light

For we all come from that cosmic night

As the dust from heaven’s sparkle

Fills with joy our life’s abode

Like those stars above I wonder

We too need to burn, to grow

Return to ash the pain we suffered

Spread instead now far this sight

Seen living in how we burn together

Lift the dark and ignite the light.

Love met me talking to my woe

Answered strong deep and cheery

In a language I didn’t know

Yet through my veins those words did ponder

Racing madly around my heart

Till who I thought I was, did wonder

At the beauty this thing did start

Worries, we all, thereof have many

Cede them to a grateful God

For in this gift you give up plenty

Create the place for Love’s new start.

What a day, what a journey

Chasing after my heart,

It’s self in pursuit of my soul

Finding, hiding, lost

In, in a place that doesn’t exist

Only to get worse, I then couldn’t find myself

In that space of echoes and mirrors and smoke

A crack appears all around

Through which a beam of beauty

Brought me home to rejoice

Brought my being back to joy

Brought you into my intoxication’

A King today he called aloft

From high in heaven above

The queen we called Elizabeth

she had reigned now long enough

Her husband’s gentle whisper

Philips hand did lead the way

The family all around her now

In tears she heard them say

‘Mother of a nation’

‘British, we call aloud’

‘The steadfast rock of England’

‘70 years she did us proud’

Our Queen a shining Lilly

Now risen to the clouds

To glory, praise and honour

Our flag is now her shroud

Our Nation came to mourn her

The world too shed a tear

For a Monarch she reigned as sovereign

The Commonwealth loved her dear

Now rest our Queen of pageant

Sleep long our Queen of hearts

For God is too your savior

Long may your glory last.

To feel your soul when the mountain shakes

To hear your silence as the thunder breaks

To touch your love as the morning awakes

How long my love will you be gone?

Till the full moon rounds

Till the four season sounds

Till the sea tide turns

I’ll find your light

So you’ll be mine
