Poetry: Flight

In the solace of smashed brick

In the consolation of broken concrete

My soul is torn asunder

Screams to the ears of the undead thunder

Cries, out into barren skies

I look for rest, to lay my head

A place to heal my soul instead of this.

Uplifted, I knew beyond the torment and fire

A swallow sweeps to catch the mite

Restless to build a home create desire

Uplifted, I swam against breakers

I ran between the density of those

Who rose up like mountains

Who spread out like rivers

Willows weeping tragedy

Then flew, again a restless falcon

Migrating on invisible threads of wisdom

Seeking knowledge,

Finding seed to sustain to nourish

Towns lay buried in opulent graveyards

Skyscrapers hacked jagged graffiti from horizon to dusk

Stale the sent of past perfections musk

I searched in vain

My home, again was gone

Far out along the Nile

Trees sway, share truth, beguile

This symphony of words

A poetry of incomprehensible beauty emerged

Enamored with insight and resolve to the pen

Yet dissolving along the edges of my reason

This ink smudged page is written

In this alchemy of chaos

Heavenly gold poured through a portal

The gentle, still beating heart of desire

Kindled again by an eternal kiss

Affirmed the universal bliss of love

To be born again

Now these feathers flutter again in light

Thus incarnated from the rubble

Emergent from dust and dirt

We journey across the transmutation of love to capture the impossible

To hold the improbable moment

Creating a new home for you and me and every Soul from every nation.

I’ve been like many before

Broken, weak and waisted

Angry, lost and lonely

Accused, then shouting cried:

“It’s now with love, I’ll try!”

To reach out, take my pride

Pull me up, I’ve found the true

I now could touch the ground of you

The power in me knew, the insight too

To see the stars and shine

To plant a seed and press the wine

To close these eyes then feel divine.

Much more than an organ,

It moves an ocean

Vast as the universe

We, a drop in which this ocean heaves.

Throw your life into those seas

Feet remaining firm

Your heart remembering again

The source from whence we came

To which we will again

Return in the course of given time

Together let’s lift a cheer

It’s not wine which wets our lips

It’s life rejoicing

In recognition of itself.

I fall so deep

I fall to find you in my sleep.

Pull you close then touch the soft

The softness we miss so much

Of close, of warm, of lips & legs

Of intense want

Of intense need

Of intense burning beads of sweat.

Your fingers stroke

My hard, your soft

My mouth, my strong.

Your cheek is blushed

Can this be wrong?

You take this all, you take me too.

You take this night, these dreams of who

Caught in pleasure

Caught in flight

Fantasy holds us locked in love

Fills us, makes us see

Beyond the busy day by day.

Could we, would we, should we

Find a way of now

Of living with the how

The moments of just why

We met

We found

We laughed

We loved

We transformed

In my deep, I fall to find you fast asleep.

My dream, a queen whom touch awoke.

A whisper as she gently spoke.

Be mine, be with me,

Be this time of joy,

We both in love have left.

Could I look inside anothers soul?

Augment my sight with empathy

Scan the faces of those others

While reading the reality of their lives

Feelings, those unspoken sufferings

Hidden behind the masks

A thousand tiny lies

A hundred false giggles

Is one sad face,

looking for recognition

In there, waits the lonely wanderer

Wanting wisdom

Speak but the truth,

Words which the searcher seeks

This is strong mana, let it penetrate the skeptical

World of sunshine

Let it awaken in the light of recognition

For it’s a dark stew of pain which prepares the gain

It’s an imminent desire to crack open the Chrysalis

Allowing the butterfly’s wings to be born.
