It was but a simple smile,

Created in the joy of now.

Upon these lips, a while it rested,

I thought about a story, how?

How freely joy from one smile chatted,

Till another heart from it awakes.

There now, the dark, is all scattered,

This new day with laughter shakes.

Here, with what makes life worth living,

Frees me from my saddened past.

A smile’s embrace is free for giving,

With it, love heals all at last.

Ode to the Conundrum

Tranquil ripples flow to the shore,

Rolling pebbles in the crash and roar.

Like seconds, minutes, all the days till life’s done,

March forward till forever, this arcane conundrum.

Life finds time, the baby to embrace,

Crowned with love, is this child’s grace.

The quick life laughs, then again stumbles and falls,

Time, the giver, claims then recalls.

Shares youth’s sweet flush, passion reaches the sky,

To the old man’s stick and his contorted cry.

The bolt of light from whence we came,

To the funeral pyre, we return again.

Cruel time’s hand that wields the scythe,

Only hope persists to keep love alive.

This conundrum may baffle and deceive,

Alone, it’s the spirit that will conceive.

Oh, time’s enigma, is a paradox we face,

Yet in the poetry of life, we find solace.

So sing and strive, let hope arise,

It’s in this rhythm of existence, where our meaning lies.

A tree, it’s such a grandiose thing,

Swaying majestic in the wind.

The leaves of green, they dance and sing,

This movement of a living thing.

So huge, so vast, so naturally it orchestrates

The way this day symphonically collaborates

The subtle sound which rustles from its limbs

Nature plays it’s concertos so simply this tune rings

Flying too, indeed I might with those clouds

White, skidding high across my view.

Its leafy fingers grasp those shredded shrouds.

All shaking magnificence in the blue.

I wonder, lying on my back,

If I could do this too?

Just what is what and who is who.

Tree, sky, cloud, me and blue.

Ode to Understanding

My friend, study me as much as you like,

Yet, truth knows our knowledge is infinite.

This me, is a mosaic of most intricate design,

A kaleidoscope like colors by that intertwine.

Is what you see, the essence of what you know?

No, we are more than what meets the glance.

In a thousand ways, I change and advance,

A treasure chest of mystery waiting to unfold.

Place yourself within my eyes, take hold,

What stories see you now untold?

See the hidden insights through my gaze,

Share my dreams, find my thoughts in place.

For we also move in space, ethereal and fine,

Beyond this outer surface, where scientists confide.

No individual being can comprehend my view,

It’s a realm reserved for me and me alone, it’s true.

So let curiosity guide your soul’s quest,

Unravel the mysteries, put your mind to the unequivocal test.

Seek to understand, with empathy and grace,

The intricate complexities of my inner space.

So study me, my friend, with your open mind,

Embrace the uniqueness that make each, one of a kind.

And in the journey of knowledge, let empathy be our guide,

For in this understanding, our souls will surely confide.
