When you return to that cliff of sorrow,

Where the weight of memory binds you fast,

Be not hardened by its presence

Nor made small beneath its shadow.

For even the fiercest stone will yield

To the quiet persistence of love.

It does not shatter by force or will,

But by the gentle patience of loves light

Seeping through each silent fracture,

Softening the edges, loosening the hold.

You may trust the grace of breaking,

As it moves unseen through the cracks,

Making a passage where none was before,

Calling you go beyond the prison of pain,

Into the wide, bright fields of your becoming…
