Poetry: Whisper of Love

Let time’s grey shroud, wrapt, heavy with sleep’s embrace,

Of days when youth’s blossom kissed the evening air.

Beside the fire’s flicker, grasp I now this book with care,

Each word a whisper, a memory we trace.

Amongst the shadows, echoes laughter once danced,

Reflect I on loves, both true and authentic guise,

It’s how we see, reveals truth unto our eyes,

Yet amidst the throng, one soul took chance.

Lean close to this fire’s warmth, join hearts at play,

Whisper softly of Love’s flight, in silent stead.

And hide their faces, amongst the heavens, overhead.

While others fled to the mountains, where stars held sway.
